I’ve been getting lots of calls and emails lately asking about room fees, schedule of events, transportation, and how to register for Women At Woodstock.
Here in one place is a neat and tidy overview of Women At Woodstock from start to finish. I welcome your comments and feedback!
What is Women At Woodstock?
Women At Woodstock is a first-ever retreat for women 50 and over, at the beautiful Emerson Resort and Spa in Woodstock, New York, October 7-10, 2012. The purpose is to gather women in midlife for an inspiring three days and three nights of speakers, performances, workshops, and one-to-one expert consultations to help foster change, action, and new undertakings at a point when we are entering into a state of newfound freedom.
Women At Woodstock is not a traditional conference. It is a very personal experience for every participant – presenter and guest alike.
What will we be doing?
We will gather for meals together, from Sunday dinner through lunch on Wednesday, where we will hear from amazing women from our generation – leaders and experts in business, creativity, social action, spirituality, relationships, travel, and more. We will participate in a broad offering of workshops on everything from writing careers to social media to starting a business to finding love after 50. We will have private meetings with experts in various fields. We’ll enjoy a welcome party and a one-woman show on opening night – and yes, we will have down time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and all of the luxurious spa services we want.
Who are the speakers and workshop leaders?
Suzanne Braun Levine, the original editor of Ms. Magazine, Amy Ferris, author and co-playwright of Marrying George Clooney, Alice Barden, an actress and playwright who will perform Alice and Elizabeth’s One Woman Show on the opening night; Barbara Hannah Grufferman, author of The Best of Everything After 50; Jody Feagan, founder of the San Miguel Literary Festival; Cindy Joseph, a supermodel who started her career at age 49; Elizabeth Geitz, author and an Episcopal priest; business leaders; dating and relationship experts; social media experts; and more!
Who came up with the idea for Women At Woodstock?
I did. I’m just a woman with a varied career history (lawyer, then publisher, then head of a marketing firm, now an internet marketing specialist – and a wife and a mom) who has been feeling a strong pull lately to examine what I have been doing with my life, and choose wisely what I will do now. I have been feeling a strong desire to gather with other women from my generation, to share our energy, knowledge, resources, and support – and make positive changes in our lives, no matter how big or small.
So here I am, asking you to join me at Woodstock in October. I can’t wait to meet each and every one of you who comes.
What is the cost?
Women At Woodstock is an all-inclusive three days and three nights event; program registration is $595 and accommodation charges vary by type of room; they range from $565 to $895.
